2010-2011 SEED EXCHANGE
Welcome to the APS-2010 Seed Exchange. Our great appreciation to all who contributed seed this year. There are two lists: a 2010 list of new seed and a list of all older seed. Donor numbers are shown for each seed listing. The location where wild seed was collected is shown. If no location is given, assume a garden source.
Be sure to list plenty of substitutes with your requests; otherwise I will do it for you, using my best judgment. Certain entries are in short supply –some as little as a packet or two. Requests will be filled on a "first-come, first-served" basis. All requests must be received on or before March 1, 2011. Seed from cultivars or hybrids may or may not resemble the parent. Unless specified otherwise, garden seed is open-pollinated. Offspring may be variable if closely-related penstemons grow nearby. Even wildcollected taxa may show natural variation or even occasional hybridization. This is part of the excitement of growing from seed. Experience shows that older seed may germinate more readily than new penstemon seed. We have a good offering of older seed and urge you to select from this list along with the new donations. Please specify which list --old or new '10 --for each request. On the old list, specify a year if you have a preference.
Please request by number, though it is extremely helpful to also include the species or cultivar name. Donors of seed receive
one packet free for each seed donation they make. All overseas members are permitted 10 free packets. All non-free packets
are US $0.50 each. Your may send US currency but we would prefer checks payable to the American Penstemon Society.
Everyone is limited to no more than 20 packets. Donors and/or overseas members can order their free seed by email to: Louise
